The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a high wind watch for much of the San Bernardino County desert, including the Morongo Basin and Palm Springs areas from Friday afternoon through Saturday.
* WINDS: SOUTHWEST WINDS 25 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS AROUND 60 MPH POSSIBLE.
* TIMING: WINDS WILL INCREASE SHORTLY BEFORE SUNRISE ON SATURDAY WITH THE STRONGEST WINDS IN THE LATE MORNING AND EARLY AFTERNOON.
OMG...the back side of the store is RIPPED apart with plant shelves turned over, busted plants, sprinklers in the trees; banners on the fence all ripped off...one of the umbrellas that was bolted in busted in half...a rouge produce cart was rolling along in the middle of the street when I arrived...ALL OF THIS BEAUTIFUL PICKED PRODUCE IN...nobody came.
Indian Avenue and Gene Autry are both closed due to the winds. In addition the I-10 Freeway, at the Indian Avenue exit is a total DUST BOWL!!! You can barely see the vehicle in front of you...I've see fog that wasn't as bad as this....BE CAREFUL, VERY CAREFUL!!!...
