The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a high wind watch for much of the San Bernardino County desert, including the Morongo Basin and Palm Springs areas from Friday afternoon through Saturday.

* WINDS: SOUTHWEST WINDS 25 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS AROUND 60 MPH
POSSIBLE.

* TIMING: WINDS WILL INCREASE SHORTLY BEFORE SUNRISE ON SATURDAY WITH THE
STRONGEST WINDS IN THE LATE MORNING AND EARLY AFTERNOON.

Yuppers. I was just reading that. And you know how it whips crazy up here in the IC. I'm not thrilled at all :-( 

I'm more worried about how I'm supposed to keep umbrellas up at the store!!! UGH 

Oh! You better put those down. I lost one over the summer from a little "gust". Watch out for those tree's out back too!!

I can't get them out of the stands because they are BOLTED in...and I can't get the tops off because apparently Mr. Iron Man screw them in!!! 

UGH! I hated the wind in 29. And here I was worried about a little rain down here. 

This is our penance for all the beautiful weather we have had I'm sure. I knew something had to break soon. :( 

I need to make a trip up there soon, I miss the openess...

I was just out raking the backyard, and it wasn't windy yet...going to bring the plants in here soon.

It sure is! Son and I had to go gather fence post that blew off and hammer them back on before we could let the dogs out.

Wind started about 230 AM in the IC 

It's been blowing hard here, my tree looks like its going to blow over. 

I don't have wind here, we have SNOW!

man its so windy I just saw the swamp cooler ripped from the roof of the house behind me.

My grill is trashed; I woke up to find it tossed across the yard :( 

Drove down the hill to palm springs, crap all over the road and had to pretty much keep the wheel sideways to not get blown off the road... 

OMG...the back side of the store is RIPPED apart with plant shelves turned over, busted plants, sprinklers in the trees; banners on the fence all ripped off...one of the umbrellas that was bolted in busted in half...a rouge produce cart was rolling along in the middle of the street when I arrived...ALL OF THIS BEAUTIFUL PICKED PRODUCE IN...nobody came.

Power went out - that was the last straw.

I'm bummed. :( 

No power, its been about 1.5 hours, anyone else? 

Ours kicked off and on for a few hours here in Adobe Flats on base, but we have power...For now. 

Indian Avenue and Gene Autry are both closed due to the winds. In addition the I-10 Freeway, at the Indian Avenue exit is a total DUST BOWL!!! You can barely see the vehicle in front of you...I've see fog that wasn't as bad as this....BE CAREFUL, VERY CAREFUL!!!... 

A semi got blown over right after the ten on the 62....and the power needs to come on NOW!
