I babysat 2 girls for a ladie who works on base. Since I have been watching her kids, she only paid me on time once. As of today she has not paid me in 3 weeks and is not returning my phone calls. Am I SOL or is there anything I can do to get the money she owes?

Yeah, I was supposed to watch her girls today from 3:00pm to midnight. My husband called her work earlier and asked to speak with a supervisor but they don't want to get involved. I had a friend call her earlier and she answered. My friend said sorry, wrong number. I tried to call right away and she never answered. I left very polite messages telling her how concerned I was but she is ignoring me.

Yes, I have called. I was told from the State that I can't watch any more than 4 kids at any given time. 4 kids or less is legal without being certified.

That is what my husband is thinking. He says we are SOL and that small claims will be more of a hassle than what it's worth. It's really sad though, my husband and I like helping people who are having difficulties. I was only charging her $20 a day for both girls because her family was supposedly going through rough times, plus my daughter really enjoyed playing with the girls.

You would need proof for court. Like a contract, or sign in sheet, reciepts

I'm very sorry you're in this situation, though. Been there, done that, and have the t-shirt. In the end it's more of a life lesson than anything else.

Well, you can't argue with that. Like I said before though, she was late several times, but always ended up paying. She has never ignored me like this though. Probably. I beleive their was a post a few months ago of somebody asking if they ever babysat and not gotten paid. Maybe it's the same person and she is running a scam. At least everyone will know who she is now, lol.
