Can anyone please explain to me why Lucky Park doesn't allow animals who's stupid idea that was and who I can petition to change that rule. I was walking through there today with my dogs and animal control threatened me with a $350 fine. Like it didn't already suck living in Hell to begin with now I don't have anywhere decent to walk my dogs! The dog park in Two Mile housing is TOO SMALL. 

I see a lot of people walking their dogs on leashes in neighborhoods locally all the time. Both dogs and owners seem to be content with that arrangement. Maybe that's an option? I think there is a dog park in Yucca Valley or there was talk of one, or something LOL.

Good thing you were only threatened with that $$$ fine. So many signs/warnings in that park that say no pets, if I were AC I'd just have written the fine. 

Yes there are signs posted at the park saying no animals. You are very lucky you didn't get a ticket. 

I do not think it is a stupid idea at all. That is the only real green place in 29 and people want to be able to take their kids there without having to worry about the dog poop they may step on. I understand that there are a lot of responsible pet owners that would pick up after their animals, but there is also a lot that do not.

+1 I enjoy the dog free zone as well. I had a big problem at Knott Sky park with someone who lived across the street constantly letting their large dogs run across the street and roam the park, terrorizing my kids. It got much worse after they took the fence down on El Sol - it was much easier for the dogs to get in. Yes, I called animal control and gave them the address of the house the dogs would emerge from.

Irresponsible pet owners ruin it for the ones who care for their animals.

Not to mention the massive stray dog problem in 29P. I was shocked when I got here how many old people walk in the mornings with bats and golf clubs to fend off all the stray dogs that are abandoned here when people PCS. 

I just don't get what the issue is with me walking my dogs around the park on the sidewalk. I'm not bothering anybody or "in" the park. My routine is to go around, through one of the neighborhood streets and loop back around. It just seems pretty ridiculous to me I can't use a public sidewalk. I'm apparently supposed to walk in the street and get hit by a car. I'm not letting my dogs run loose, they aren't pooping in the park, I'm not on the grass. It's dumb. 

The issue is: IT IS NOT ALLOWED, is there some part of that which you don't understand, there are signs posted everywhere; you've been stopped and warned so henceforth if you go there with your dog you deserve what you get. Maybe you are one of those responsible dog owners, but the majority in that area ARE NOT. Just check outside the 801 housing and you'll see MOUNDS of dog poop that these thoughtless owners have failed to cleanup. Sorry you have to obey the rules, but deal with it cupcake, it ain't gonna change, and you will never get enough signatures to even get City Halls attention on this matter. What you will get is a really nice fine next time you walk your critter on park property.... 

Guess I'm just going to have to walk at night over in the park. Getting hot anyway.

Where to start? First thing, I do not want to go to a park where I have to worry about sitting where a dog might had peed or pooped. Even though it had been picked up, it's still nasty. You maybe a responsible dog owner, but look at all the ones who aren't. The good suffer for the bad.

Secondly...it's a rule. Just follow the rules no matter how "dumb" you think they are. I there are several dumb rules (AKA laws) but I have to follow them or face the consequences of my actions.

Thirdly... 29 Palms is not Hell. I would give my eye teeth to be able to go back to the desert. Plus that, there are several other places that are much, much worse to live.

Well since I just happen to have friends who are Animal Control Officers, and since our local Police are also able to site you for walking you dog in the park, I'll be sure to alert them to your stupid claim....Thanks for the heads up.... 

So in other words you don't care that others have to deal with your dog doing his business where they walk too. How considerate of you.

One thing that I have never understood and this is not directed at you. If the spouses dislike the desert so much why don't they just pack up and go home? No-one says they have to live there with the spouse. I understand that they want to be together, but why complain about it? Either make good of a bad situation or leave. We personally loved it there, but then again we took full advantage of what that area has to offer which is a lot.

Wonder what's wrong with society today? When you have so called adults like this who can't follow simple rules, how do you expect our teenagers or even our children to follow them? We as adults have to led by example. Something this person is not doing.

Well my dog crapped twice in the park just now. Didn't see any Animal Control or PD alerted to my evil plan. But then again it didn't take a High School degree to figure out nobody really alerted them either. :o Watch your step tomorrow. Your welcome for the heads up!
