What housing would we be able to live in and how many bedrooms? We only have one kid and the Mr. is a Sgt. He's gonna be in 3rd CEB...if that matters. We live in a 2 bedroom house now so I'm thinking it would be the same.

Thanks.

Sorry for so many questions.

There are several different areas.

What would you recommend? We have no pets. My husband wants to live on base since he might be deploying and he doesn't feel comfortable for us to be off base. My daughter is only 2 so I'm not concerned about being near a school or anything.

Why not just call the housing office and ask them what area's you might be offered. Then come back here and ask for info on those communities. You will most likely wind up on the Condor end of base which is really close to Condor Elementary.

Condor side of base has the majority of the housing options for a E5 with only one child. You'll likely get a 2 bedroom. I have a nephew on the base right now who is a Sgt with 1 son and they placed them in sunflower terrace. It's 2 story, 2 bed, 1.5 bath... if that helps.

Good luck!

I just called and they didn't tell me about the areas. They said its a 3-5 month wait and we would get a 2 bedroom. The 3 bedroom waiting is 0-2 months. Now I need to figure out where to go live while we wait for a house on base. :/ ugh! This is so complicating.

Thanks BenJones. :)

Try looking here for current rentals:

Bookoo 29

There are some month to month rentals but they tend to go quickly.

Thanks again.

Bug them and youll have a house in 3 weeks. Tell them you are homeless with your daughter and you need a home asap. We did and had a house in 3weeks. It works. Ask them to put u in a 3 bedroom onbase since there is no waitlist for them. He is an E-5 so I think he rates a 3 bedroom anyway (it used to be like that anyhow)

Lunas Mommy --- 10 years ago -

I think I'm gonna have to do the whole bugging thing. My neighbor was an E-5 with no kids and had a 3 bedroom house here.

Thanks a lot! :)

E-6 is the rank that allows 3 bedrooms with no kids, or only 1. Good luck trying to get a three bed room, I wouldnt count on it, especially since you arnt the only one on the 2 bedroom list.

I know. I'm not getting my hopes up. We'll see what happens.

Definately 801 and 2 bedrooms. I work for Lincoln Military Housing, so I know! You will definately love it there and you will make a ton of new friends!!

Lunas Mommy --- 10 years ago -

I've never met anyone that likes it there. :/ my friend hated it.

Oh give it a chance. Its an amazing place. You just have to look past the car break-ins, car thefts, drugs, drama, cheating, home/carport break-ins, lost children/abandoned children, dead dogs, etc.

alwaysright --- 10 years ago -

I know several people who live there and none of them have had a single problem. The places are not bad. Small side, yes, but not rundown and nasty. You jist make the best of what you get, and if you are not a person who seeks out drama, then you wont have any issues, if you a person who strives to be in drama, then you will be fine.

Since when???? I thought you were at the CDC?

Lunas Mommy --- 10 years ago -

She's everywhere.she said she will do maintenance for me if I move to 801 housing. I will only accept that offer if she has talking tools like Handy Manny.
