Alright people if you own a dog on base in adobe flats!!!! Take care of it!!!!! Stop leaving it outside and lettting it bark bark.bark bark bark allllll day geeezus!!!!! Plus its hit outside stupid!!! Never should have moved to base it was a lot quieter off!!!

a3948950uu --- 12 years ago -

They are about to getthe red meat treatment with benadryl!!!

RaeRie (Mod) --- 12 years ago -

It's not the dog's fault. I would suggest going and talking to the owners. If that doesn't work, call and complain to housing. It doesn't matter where you live on base (or 801), you're always likely to run into irresponsible animal owners.

a3948950uu --- 12 years ago -

The whole block!! Everyone on that street right behind mine leaves there dogs out all day

kElJoY --- 12 years ago -

Yeah!!! It's not the dog's fault.

Just go open up all the gates and let the dogs run free!!! Don't drug them up...geez!

ChadUSMC30 --- 12 years ago -

So either let someone know or quit complaining. I know if I found out you gave my dog benadryl then that would be it for you. Dogs bark and not everyone has a dog door. If they have food and water they should be okay for several hours.

a3948950uu --- 12 years ago -

It's ok already let half the owners know and they said they couldn't control there dog!! Yes you.can open the damn door and let them inside don't have the dog bark and bark and not say anything to the dog.... Looks like gates are opening maybe they can go.find better homes!!

I certainly hope you're prepared to search for those dogs yourself if you do that! I also hope you get your butt kicked out of housing for screwing with other peoples property! I will say without a doubt, you seem like a horrible neighbor and I'm so glad I don't live in Adobe, specifically where you are. Dogs bark no matter what. You can "say something to them" but it's their instinct... It's not like someone is threatening to drug you or let you out of your yard just because you're barking on the UG... find some tolerance or move to a place far away out from everyone(plenty of places like that here)and don't get a dog!

RaeRie (Mod) --- 12 years ago -

I lived in Adobe Flats. And yes, it bugged the crap out of me when people would completely ignore their pets, keep them outside 24/7, and give them no social interaction (therefore leaving them nothing to do but bark).

However, that never gave me the right to drug them or let them out of their gates to get hurt or worse in the middle of the desert. Again, it's not the dog's fault.

Exactly, it happens everywhere. I have a neighbor who keeps their dog out during the day and my wife hears him barking/howling which makes our dog bark too. She just goes out and says hi to them. He's a friendly dog and after she does that the dog is quiet.

I would never take it upon myself to invade their property line and release the dog or give them any type of drug. That's extreme and dangerous both to the animal and to the person who does it when the owners find out.

oTBN38o --- 12 years ago -

my neighbor warms up his bike EVERY week days at specifically 8:30am(give or take 8:25). Bothered/Freaked me out the first week or two after moving in, but now I'm immune to the noise.

kElJoY --- 12 years ago -

For the folks who take everything SO seriously...I wasn't suggesting the poster actually let the dogs out of the gates. Only as an alternative to drugging the dogs if the poster couldn't control their anger.

invade their property line

That's funny when referring to Government property.

Personally I would leave notes on everyone's doors letting them know what the issue is. Sometimes people don't realize their animal/child is a nuisance until someone makes them aware.

If that doesn't work then try the BB Gun route. ;)

I knew you weren't serious, Kel. However, I don't know the OP well enough to say they weren't being serious.

Indeed.

I hope the BB gun is to get the neighbors and not the animal!!

kElJoY --- 12 years ago -

Of course silly lol.

Just because people live on government property doesn't mean anyone/everyone has the right to enter my fenced yard, hence why they are fenced. It's just like a rental property, the renter isn't on the county record but for the duration they live there it's "their property".

Exactly. Considering they already threatened to drug the dogs so I don't give that person much benefit of the doubt.

Number one reason we don't own one. My hubs would have WAY too much fun with that. ;)

a3948950uu --- 12 years ago -

Problem solved. Guess the owner hasn't been home for a week and left him outside animal control got him poor dog stupid owner!

kElJoY --- 12 years ago -

mmmm not quite.

What lol?

It really quite is. You sign a lease and are expected to leave the structure and property in the same condition is was in when you moved in. How is that not the same to you? If I'm responsible for that property then I only allow people I trust on it. I keep a lock on my gate so people like that can't open it.

I thought it was pretty clear. You can't understand that? Fence = permission to enter... If they intended for people to be free to do as they pleased then there wouldn't be fences on base.

kElJoY --- 12 years ago -

Government Housing - ANYONE PMO/Command can come take a look inside your house; try not giving permission for entry.

Off Base/non-governmental housing - A warrant would need to be obtained for entry without your permission.

Understand the difference? That's just the tip of the iceberg on differences.

Fences in housing on a base are for aesthetics - a way to contain/hide some of the dog poop and toys. Not all base housing has fencing.

ChadUSMC30 --- 12 years ago -

Government Housing - ANYONE PMO/Command can come take a look inside your house; try not giving permission for entry.

Command has to obtain permission and have the presence of SNCO and an Officer as well as being escorted into the home via PMO. They are not allowed to enter your house without your permission. PMO is the only exception. So that's basically like the hoops you jump through for a warrant. It's not about them anyways, it's about the people who live around you. They are not allowed to just open your gate and come into your yard. That's common sense.

I'm sure that has a great deal to do with it but it's not strictly for that.

kElJoY --- 12 years ago -

Ok; believe what you will lol.

Just remembering the 801 sweeps of the past...

Rude Rudy --- 12 years ago -

Well not too many folks living on base actually possess that trait...Jus Sayin...

lol

Dogs bark all over adobe flats! I just learned to live with it..I take my melatonin at night that I purchased from the commissary and I'm able to sleep right through it!

You would have to drug at least 75% of the populations dogs in order to be satisfied, but I'm sure you'd eventually run into the wrong person.
