Has anyone heard anything about the leadership at the hospital creating more of a dictatorship rather than team work for treating us as patients? It seems as though there is a lot of stress these days and stressed healthcare people are apt to make mistakes in our care.

For example? I'm not sure I understand what you are saying.

I haven't heard anything about it, but I know they are relatively short staffed in the way of professionals. That probably doesn't help.

kElJoY --- 13 years ago -

They have been short staffed pretty much since I've been going there for 5 years. :(

An example that I over heard was staff complianing about the changes made where they no longer felt like a team/ a family but that it as starting to feel like it wad every man for himself and it was beginning to have a negative impact on them ----- whicu we all know will eventully impact patient care because how can they concentrate on us if they are concentrating on themselves

How did you have an opportunity to overhear a conversation like that?

sitting in the room, staff talking either in the hallway or a nearby room

kElJoY --- 13 years ago -

hmmmm...all I can say is my opinion; maybe, in light of the hospital staff being as short as they are, that they really don't have the time to sit around crying and whining about non-patient matters and their time could be better spent actually working; particularly when they have a patient in the vicinity. Very unprofessional on their part.

If they think this is having a negative impact on them...they should try being without a job and healthcare altogether.

Jus sayin
