as long as no one in your house is self employed you can do it free

MrsH --- 13 years ago -

I use taxslayer b/c it's free for military for the simple return.

Mr Lance Corporal --- 13 years ago -

turbo tax

Mobile Mark --- 13 years ago -

I did try them online, but went to liberty tax, to get them checked out, and they found 2500 dollars more.

Mari (Mod) --- 13 years ago -

Is Liberty expensive to use? I typically use TaxAct online, but I'd like to have it done this year.

kElJoY --- 13 years ago -

Is Liberty expensive to use?

Yes; terribly so I thought the year we went there. Plus they had a hard time keeping paperwork straight. My experience - don't go there.

Go to H&R. That's always been my best experience including the one here. :)

Mobile Mark --- 13 years ago -

I got the same figure from H & r that I got from Turbo Tax,so Im going with "Liberty"

Mr Lance Corporal --- 13 years ago -

H&R told me $95 i laughed and hung up

kElJoY --- 13 years ago -

pfffttt....$95 would be awesome lol.

Mobile Mark --- 13 years ago -

pfffttt....$95 would be awesome lol.

For real, if I could pay $95.00 and actually get something significant back, that would be great!

Mr Lance Corporal --- 13 years ago -

pfffttt....$95 would be awesome lol.

paid $25 with turbo tax

kElJoY --- 13 years ago -

Yeah well...if all I had was one W-2 to deal with mine would be that cheap too!!

Mr Lance Corporal --- 13 years ago -

touche

alwaysright --- 13 years ago -

Ours were free to do

kElJoY --- 13 years ago -

Ours were free to do

Oh yes. We have had them done many times on base when still active duty. They always did a great job. We can still go as retired but it just doesn't seem right with so many active duty needing the time slots. :)

alwaysright --- 13 years ago -

Psh not on base. We send them to an accountant who happens to be family

kElJoY --- 13 years ago -

I just meant it reminded me when you said free lol.

Speaking of which - why did you pay Mr. Lance when you could have gotten it for free???

imperfectly perfect --- 13 years ago -

So I usually wait to file but there is something i HAVE to have and needed a down payment, so anyways. I used Turbo tax, but it was like $100 (we had 3 different states to file ). H & R block wanted $500!!!! NO THANK YOU!

kElJoY --- 13 years ago -

$500??? Good grief...do you own 3 houses and have a business or something?

imperfectly perfect --- 13 years ago -

Nope! Sold my 2 houses in 2008! We had 2 state returns and she said that was why. RIDICULOUS!!!

Wildfire --- 13 years ago -

I have used Turbo Tax for probably the past 5 years. We always have several states to file in so it's just cheaper. This year we have federal and 2 states (CA and VA).
