but not in any hurry to get a pet and because what I do is important now then to have a cat wanting to be petted and I will if I really truly need one [are benefits to not owning any dog or cat] ..I can stay away longer from my place this way too. Up to a week even .. 

I wish I didn't have pets! I love my dogs but you're correct. you can go away for a week or even just a weekend and not worry. with pets you have to find sitters or take them and they cause stress! blah! I've been anti-pets ever since we moved on base :(

I love my 3 dogs, 2 chickens, fish and hedgehog! HOWEVER Joe, you were very correct saying you can now stay away home longer. I think the maximum we can be away from home is like 15 hours and thats it. I love all my critters but I wouldn't mind being able to leave a few days without having to hire a pet sitter.

Yep Hollz she went to cat heaven and I had to put her asleep because she had serious bladder stones that was found on an xray by the Vet and too old or too sick to get meds or surgery ..Apparently she had nausea and didn't keep her food down. 

Oh Joe I'm so sorry! I didn't know. We are going through the exact same thing with my female cat. Though its crystals not stones yet. Special food, constant antibiotics, she's still young so we have hope. It's been rough though on her, us and the wallet.

Yep because my cat was too elderly like a lady in her 70s age and may of not lived long much at all but you are the first person I've heard have a cat with something very similar too .. and hope it works out for you too. :) 

I am still enjoying the other times I got alone but only that I have became bored in evenings of late and try to take a walk then.Still not wanting a pet as yet and rather have a room-mate at times.
