seems very boring or just boring enough OR with me I get to feel I am missing out on something this holiday season [part of living by oneself I guess]/ Tonight of Monday very dull and one just has to force himself to sort something at home or whatever can do..Having blank spare time believe me is not bliss lol

Having blank spare time believe me is not bliss

Take my word for it - it is.

Don't worry joe - it isn't just this town. You can feel lonely anywhere you live - even New York City!!! Just get you a good book and snuggle up!!

I agree.

This town is very boring Joe but lots of towns are. I personally can't stand this town and wouldn't live here if not for my orders. I can't wait for this next year to go by so we can leave. Christmas just doesn't feel like Christmas around here...there is just no color. For now, we choose movies and books. Of course, you always have the UG!

kElJoY --- 13 years ago -

there is just no color

You need to take a drive around town - all around the town - there is lots of color right now. Not to mention the FULL MOON and I mean FULL MOON out...simply gorgeous out.

And that too lol!!!

I'm feeling a little better with all the Christmas lights going up but it's nothing compared to snow on all the trees and the grass. Not to mention when the snow falls at night against the metro buildings. The light from the buildings makes the snow look amazing.

On a side note, the moon out here is really nice.

kElJoY --- 13 years ago -

Dude - you need to get the spirit in your heart. :) That's where Christmas is at.

IWearHisRank --- 13 years ago -

LOL. Its also in your pockets. hahahah

kElJoY --- 13 years ago -

Nooooo ....simple...I take Christmas in a simple way.

Just a baby in a manager. Without that - there wouldn't be all this. :)

I feel ya there, being from Colorado, but I love it here in the desert.

I must admit I get actual pangs of pain in my heart when I remember beautiful Christmases I have spent in winter wonderlands and missing that magical part of snow...but I get over it quickly lol.

I'll be back Friday afternoon and until then chow and smiley !

I think Christmas feels the same here as it did in NC, only thing missing here is my family!

I remember growing up in NJ and having snow and ice everywhere. It was very wonderful.

This town is what you make of it. I love going to Joshua tree with the kids and climbing the rocks, Something they never did until we moved here. We are planning on going skiing in Jan, another thing they never did.

So although I would prefer to be with my family, I am thankful for my kids to get this experience, and when they complain that they miss their old friends, I simply tell them they are very lucky children because with every move we make, they will have friends all over the country. And they get to see what its like to live in different parts of the country.

I took the family up to big bear, lots of snow - its a winter wonderland!

Snow ball fights, snowmen, sledding, snow angels - good times.

Is there a place in big bear just to play in the snow david??? If so can you direct me to there, I would love to take the kids to play in the snow.

So what I did was lookup where the municipal parks are where people who live there might recreate. Just went to one of the city parks.

There are also two pay for places where you rent an innertube and slide down a hill. I prefer big bear snow play, but they're both very similar.
