Looks like a desert rat to me! They actually look like pretty cool little fellas, I think the term "rat" is a terrible description. 

It's a Dippity Do...that's what people have told me they're called. LOL Probably related to the Prairie Dog as described above. 

Someone on the UG had actually caught a baby one right after it was born and called one of the animal organizations in the low desert, they took the little guy in.

Must be a different type though, they don't get any bigger than shown in the picture. I have them running rampant in my yard, they share my plants with the bunnies...:-)

Hey if the thing wasn't leaving poop all over the place and destroying my garage from the inside out with me thinking its just really angry rats.. I wouldn't have laid down the toxins.

I didn't say they shouldn't die for what they are doing, I just prefer a rifle over toxins. PoooOOOooF! 

If you shot those itty tiny things with a rifle you wouldn't have anything left to eat. You have to use a really strong BB Gun. ;) 

Well when they chew up your wires in your car, shoot 'em and make sure there isn't anything left!

I have heard that A LOT out here in the Desert...thank goodness they haven't attacked our cars but goodness knows we have enough of them around. 

I used to find little foot prints in my engine. They never chewed anything up, thank God. 

I have to admit that in my early 20s my new kitty climbed up in my engine....and well I'm sure you know how that turns out.
