when looking for a rental home? I'm not sure if I should sell or rent. Move or stay?

Cool, r u looking to rent? Sell? 

We own a house and have no idea if we want to sell it or rent it out when we get ready to leave. I'm curious as to what people will say they are looking for out here too. I know when we started looking to rent first we were looking for at least 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, decent size back yard, around the amount of my husband BAH. Oh good neighborhood/area is a given I would think. 

i look for what most fits our budget, and meets our needs at the same time. I also look at HOMES that are owned. Already had to deal with someone forclosing even though we were paying the rent. I also have a kid (even though hes not school age) i am sure distance to school or bus routes are taken into consideration. I also look at what the houses in teh area around the house look like. IF the neighbors are letting thier kids run wild in the neighbor hood or loose animals, then thats a big red flag for me. If the houses close by are not kept up nice then thats also a red flag for me. But then again i may just be too picky. Some people just want a affordable place thats move in ready. Oh and i would want all appliances included.

But then again i may just be too picky. I don't think so, thats exactly what we looked for when buying or renting!

I'm not sure if I should sell or rent. i would never rent anything that i owned, but am very picky as i said before. I would be so pissed if i bought a home and someone moved in and distroyed it. Not to be "rude" but i would say that Most people dont keep a house up the way that i believe it should be kept! And JENNIFER i know how you live and i am sure that it would be hard to find someone to live up to your standard of cleaning.

We may end up renting our house out, but like you said I would hate to rent it out and have someone come in and destroy it. The benefit we have is we bought our home super cheap and no matter what we sell it for we'll make a profit, but I am picky when it comes to the profit we make. What do you all think about a property management company?
