Looking for a really, really good veterinarian for our boxer babies.

I searched and couldn't find anything recent and would like some up to date opinions.

Thank you :)

VCA on Hwy 62 in 29 and YV take care of my doggies' needs. No problems for me taking them there.

The only other one that I'm aware of in this area is Companion in YV and it gets good reviews from most.

Thanks so much!

There are a few fb pages that can help you with any questions... Fur the love of Animals.

Go to Companion in Yucca. 29 VCA is a rip off.

29 VCA is a rip off.

What happened that you always say that? I've never seen you put a reason - maybe I missed it.

I personally think ALL vets are a rip off with what they charge - necessary evils. However, I've never had a problem with my dogs getting taken care of at 29 VCA.

I have taken my animals to both, VCA and the Animal hospital here in 29 Palms. I never had any problems with either just one is cheaper then the other.

We use Companion Animal Clinic in Yucca Valley. They are great and reasonable. When our cats were having problems several times they only charged me for just the culture or labs instead of a full visit + labs. We've never had a problem with VCA here in town. I'm so thankful they are open on Saturdays (because crap always happens on Friday nights!). They do however end up charging me double. The staff at both places have always been wonderful with our pets.

I swear y'all love to question everything... AGAIN one persons OPINION!!!

I've only gone there once. (My animals don't get vaccinated.) my dog was EXTREMELY ill. Yellow funk dripping and sneezing all over the place. I took him there since it was the closest. The vet looked at him, she said he was old and that I really should have blood work done which is $200. Also suggested he get X-rays that were $100+. I think they disliked the fact that I had a coupon for a free visit (since it was our first time there) so they doubled the antibiotic price. Im sorry but $82.50 is astronomical price for an antibiotic...

Oh and to top of all that they gave me expired antibiotics. I called the next day and the lady tried telling me I was reading the label wrong. It was the date administered not an expiration date. I decided to go there an communicate face to face and hmmmm... I was the one reading it right!!!

Ah ok. Sorry for asking the question; was just curious. I wasn't trying to go back and forth on anything.

Dog Training --- 12 years ago -

VCA is a rip off. We took our animals there for several years and each routine visit cost more and more until we didn't get out of there for under $200 and usually over $300. We're talking routine visits. The final straw was when I called to make a non-routine visit for a dog that had the runs. It wasn't an emergency, it was a "can she get in in the next couple of days?" and I was informed that any illness constituted an emergency and would require an additional $75 fee AND even then, the next available was 3 days away. We immediately switched to Companion, who I had heard great things about. When I lined up my receipts, item for item, it was 1/3 the cost, the vets are amazing and they get you seen fairly quickly.
