Don't want to get slammed, just want to know how the area between Adobe Rd and Twenty Nine Palms HWY is. Is it a crappier neighborhood or a quiet and nice one?

kElJoY --- 14 years ago -

You have to be a little more specific.

IWearHisRank --- 14 years ago -

Four Corners?

SewnLove --- 14 years ago -

depends, the exact area you are asking about, we live in the chocolate drop area just off of two mile, it's not bad, pretty quiet a few houses for rent, a few also being built in the area.

BoxTop Hero --- 14 years ago -

Our realtor told to stay away from the chocolate drop area but I think it was bc of what we were looking for in a home.

Nice & Quite Between 801 Housing
& Adobe Rd

Cherryblossom --- 14 years ago -

I live off Gorgongia and it so far seems pretty nice. Not quiet, but nice. Nothing sketch so far, although if you go down further it gets a little sketchy...

Thanks!

Adobe Rd and Twenty Nine Palms HWY

SewnLove --- 14 years ago -

well we have a 3bd, 2bath, 2 car garage, and huge back yard, that we just love, our neighborhood isn't that bad, crime stats are way down.

Beach Living --- 14 years ago -

I prefer Yucca Valley :)

UGH!! You are all scaring the shiznit out of me about the area. I am not some city girl who is used to things being beautiful and hunky dory everywhere. I grew up in a small town that had drug problems and what not. I am not looking for a fancy house with all the bells and whistles, but after talking to a few people about the house we were looking at, you guys make me feel like I am going to have to carry mace with me from my door to my mailbox. Like no matter what I do my car will get broken into and my house will be robbed. Is all of it really that bad or are people just so used to not seeing that side of life that it is a little foreign to them? If I take the appropriate precautions should I be ok or am I doomed?

I am not going to live in an apartment in 801 where my kids cannot play in a yard or my dogs cannot run, or where any of their outside toys cannot be set up. No, I am not too good for it, just want to be able to have atleast what I have now. Room for them to run.

Ok, rant over, let the bashing begin.

Oh, and to those of you that have given me info..THANKS!!! I really do appreciate it and any other info you can offer. ;o)

shinyobject --- 14 years ago -

Lol well either learn to sacrifice and move into 801 or you can move out in town and run your luck with the met addicts . Either way your lifestyle is getting ready to get a major change. Your going to have a hard time adjusting, BUT the good news is that it all passes and you will learn where the parks are that you can run your children and pets, its the complete opposite of Orange county but its not HORRIBLE.

Everyone gona through the freak out stage, just surprising yours is starting so soon lol.

DanaFromPennsylvania --- 14 years ago -

Just so you know, we lived out in town, and we were never robbed, nor was our car broken into! I'm not saying it doesn't happen, because we all know its not a rare occurrence in 29. We lived past hwy 62 near where Palms and Paws Animal Shelter is, if you know where that is. Take precautions, but don't freak yourself out too much!

Well, I have never been to orange county so that is no help...lol...

I think people are blowing the whole thing way out of proportion, the crime cannot be so bad that I have to carry mace or whatnot with me just to go on a walk. Just need to know that I am not going to be accosted at every turn I make ;o)....although by some of you it might be interesting.

Mobile Mark --- 14 years ago -

I Love it in my area,
& so does my Wife an Kids

shinyobject --- 14 years ago -

I dunno about the mase thing but a pair of brass knuckles never hurt anyone... of wait... nevermind.

Erin --- 14 years ago -

We have been looking at a house in the square of 29 Palms Hwy, Adobe Rd, 2 Mile Rd, and Utah Tr.

kElJoY --- 14 years ago -

There are "pockets" all around 29. You will find a good pocket surrounded by not as good areas and vice versa.

Sparky the Snowman --- 14 years ago -

Hi Erin. I have lived in 29 Palms for a long time, it's no worse than a lot of other places around the country. No matter where you live in 29 Palms, chances are you and your family will be OK. You definately don't have to carry mace to check your mail and I promise their is no reason to be scared. Just take the same precautions here that you would where you grew up. I live on the south side of 2 mile road in the chocolate drop area and other than the annoying loud bass you get no matter where you go it's very quiet and pleasant. Kids are always riding their bikes and playing up and down the streets. Good luck, I hope you find what your looking for.

Wonder Valley, peacefull and quiet. Everyone on 5 acres, far apart. Good value for what you get if you can afford the luxury of living 10 minutes out of town. Look for property that have water wells out here. Water delivery can be costly.
