the new pastor Whitehouse came from a church outside east Chicago [indiana] that has 17 thousand members and 52 adult sunday school classes ,not a small town by the way ,but he's new here and will have to shrink his plans for a rural community..Sharing this if you guys ever seen that in other states or where you are originally from even in the military.
The Church is actually in Hammond, Indiana and it is also called First Baptist Church and it has a college called Hyles-Anderson College which is an Independent Fundamental Baptist. A large baptist church could be started in 29 Palms if the small, dead churches would just die. I personally recommend Freedom Baptist Church pastored by Todd Anderson. It is a newer church in 29 palms.
I think he has a point and I do know him Keljoy and no need to say any name but he knows he has a very nice family and I am glad to met him ,his family and I will miss them if I do not see them soon too!!
he may not mean churches are all dead but he means so much more can be appropriated if there is just a focus on seeking to know and ponder bible verses and passages with books in it [thats part of it] ..I met him once and more .There's more Kel but maybe you can show me anything that you heard of or some how you feel about related things if it comes to mind .I know it is not going to change or affect things now anyway. If that makes some sense?
I can translate for now of the kind of christian family he has as father ..The kids are 4 and one is young adult now with a daughter gone to a good college in Calif...The kids are a shining light in ways of well-raised persons maybe in reflecting how the home church in Hammond is as well. Plus more--
His wife is a kind person and fun to talk to ,a good wife as well.I think to speak for the area it does need extra help to possibly open up to many to good {?] old Christian fellowship [maybe it's on its way to that].One thing likely that has happened before is churches might some how 'compete' with eachother which hurts more then helps. But just an observation and maybe is nothing. The fellowship I mean always taking advantage of even coffee stops or etc hanging out with eachother as christians if however possible [again just observations]..Realize the bible is not the boring book many think it is too. Some are my thoughts from a few years.

WOW!!!! Another 12 hour wonder coming on here and starting trash. How long you been a member of Westboro....You need to engage your brain before running your mouth....Dream Big much????

WTF. Some people have no business "representing" the name of Christ by affiliating themselves to a church.
Now, potential members will be turned off by this idiot's comments. I know I personally would never consider going there. I don't want to be brainwashed into saying stupid things.
Lord knows I don't need any help with that. I'm doing just fine on my own ;)
