Passing forward an email I received:
Ooh Rah for Tah Tahs! It’s a funny phrase for a serious subject. Ooh Rah for Tah Tahs all started when a young Marine stationed at Twentynine Palms wanted to show support for his mother who was celebrating her 6th anniversary of being a breast cancer survivor. He made up T-shirts for a fun run on base that said Ooh Rah for Tah Tahs, and now it’s busting out all over. Operation Ooh Rah for Tah Tahs is developing a cookbook for Mother’s Day, and needs favorite recipes from Marine moms, wives, sisters and even dads who have—or had—breast cancer. The organization would also like to include funny or inspiring stories about breast cancer in the cookbook from people who are eager to express themselves. Proceeds from the sale of the cookbook will benefit the American Cancer Society and the Wounded Warrior Project. Please send your recipes and stories to oohrahrecipes@gmail.com or call 936-447-3366.
I just talked to the woman that started it all. She lives near me and its a great cause! We talked for a good 30 min. The Marine is actually her son. She wants all to know that anyone is more than welcome to submit recipes. :) And if you get a book, look for my name! I'll be in it! I'm submitting mt recipe for my beef tips. Simple and delish! Ask Coach! haha. She LOVES them!!
cool. im all for saving my tatas and everyone elses.
For those interested in finding out if their tatas are worth saving, I will be more than willing to provide you with my professional opinion...Just let me know when you want me to view them and provide my opinion...No Thanks Necessary, I'm doing this as a community service....
This is an email I recieved form the woman who is putting all this together! :) She wanted me to share it with you!
Hi Nicole (I hope I spelled your name right)!
It was great talking to you and thanks so much for offering to help with the cookbook. I tweaked the statement (see below) that I've been sending out, but you can tweak it as you see fit.
We thought that the readers of 29 Underground could help Operation Ooh-Rah for Tah-Tahs to say Happy Mother’s Day to Marine Moms around the world! Ooh-Rah for Tah-Tahs all started when a young Marine stationed at TwentyNine Palms, Ca. wanted to show support for his Mom back in Texas who was celebrating her 6th anniversary of being a Breast Cancer Survivor. The heartwarming story can be found on the Official Marine website marines.mil - just type in ooh rah in the search box then click on “Operation 'Ooh-Rah for Tah Tahs' debuts at Fun Run”. The Public Affairs Office at TwentyNine Palms did an excellent job on the article, so PLEASE take a minute to read it.
We would love to help say Happy Mother’s Day to Marine Mom’s around the world. That’s where we need your help. We’re looking for favorite recipes from Marine Moms, Wives and Dads who have had Breast Cancer. We want to compile a cookbook for Mother’s Day. We would also love to include any funny or inspiring stories that Marine Moms, Wives and Dads might have to share. The proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society and The Wounded Warrior Regiment. Please send recipes and stories to oohrahrecipes@gmail.com or call 936-447-3366.
With the release of this cookbook for Mother’s Day we are helping to fight Breast Cancer (in a month other than October) and equally important help our troops who fight for us each and every day. We will be more than HAPPY to acknowledge everyone whose recipe(s) or story is used in the cookbook. If you need further information, please email me at oohrahfortahtahs@gmail.com .
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my email and hopefully for your help as well!
