That was a really dumb thing to do. I think it's up to the company what action to take, not us. She was on a corporate sponsored trip. I think the internet takes most things to the extreme.
haha, okay. I really think people should think things through before they do something - that whole common sense thing. I think it's disrespectful, trashy, and unprofessional. Her 'excuse' was more like a validation that she makes bad decisions and expects other people to be okay with it because she's okay with it. If you have to explain that something is supposed to be 'funny' and 'rebellious', it isn't.
However, that doesn't mean she doesn't do good in other parts of her life. We are supposed to have freedom of speech in this country. But it just comes back to what I've said before; just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD.
So no, she doesn't deserve to have her life ruined. But she probably should stop being such a thoughtless moron.
The photo was taken at a national historic site in October by a fellow employee during a trip to Washington, D.C.
I think they should BOTH suffer some sort of punishment; loosing their jobs would be abit severe; how about a few hundred hours of community service working at a VA hospital with the Wounded Warrior Program...
She certainly deserves a hefty punishment but I think losing her job over this would be too much. She has likely learned better now and in the end, I don't think any real harm was done.
It's not like that crazy chick who worked for Cold Stone Creamery that made racist comments and said she hoped Obama would be assassinated because of his re-election... That girl deserved to be fired.
These companies have to evaluate the damage that these morons comments/actions have on their business and act accordingly. I don't agree with a company firing a generally good employee because of pressure from people that don't even help their business though.
She was there BECAUSE of her job. 30 years old...and her 38 year old co-worker took the picture.
I missed that part... that makes things a bit different. I thought this was on her dime and not in any way representing the company. That's till hard to say though. It's all up to them and if she does lose her job, I hope she learned her lesson...even if it's a hard lesson to learn.
Maybe if her position and her co-worker's position come open they will look to hire a disabled vets for those positions. Plenty of them looking for work and willing.

She is definitely not the classiest person on the planet, but in regards to human resources management, her job should be lost because this was a company event where they were working with clients. Acting out of code during a company event warrants immediate termination. If this had been pursued on her on time, the company would have a rather large law suit on their hands. It was done on company time, therefore they deserve to lose their jobs.
As far as the death threats and harassing her family members, people seriously need to get a life.
The creator of that FB page to fire her said they would take down their page once she was fired and guess what - it's gone now.
Pretty amazing. I'm glad whoever put that page up at least kept their word and took it back down.
I do think that had she just taken the picture and posted it and it had NOT been on a company sponsored trip it might have turned out different for her. That's definitely what did her and her co-worker in.
Has anyone seen anything with the co-worker named? Just curious that the picture taker hasn't taken the same heat from this fall out other than losing her job of course. That I've seen anyhow.
I don't think the death threats are right...apparently she's already serving her sentence in hell here on Earth and everyday after when she tries to get a job.
I don't think death threats are right but if I had someone buried there I might feel different; I dunno.
There's already over 3000 likes on the LIFE's FB page about them firing those women and I can't even get the comments to pull up; I guess because there are so many? All I can pull up are the comments on the shares.
One of the shared comments had a good question though - I wonder if they qualify for unemployment benefits now?
Actually both of my grandfathers were buried there. What she did, I don't think will ever be forgiven, but it is up to me to show the respect to my grandfather's by not playing into her pity little game. She's serving her sentence already.. or who knows.. she may get rich like casey anthony..
In the facebook post they made it said they would be deleting all comments whether good or bad. I guess you can see how many people commented even after having been deleted.
I, for one, am ecstatic that both of them lost their jobs. Maybe they will make better life decisions. I've heard she (lindsey stone) is not that young, therefore, I feel she shouldn't have been retarded enough to do something like that in the first place.
BUUUUT, then again, age has nothing to do with common sense or maturity.
I feel she shouldn't have been retarded enough to do something like that in the first place.
Most people don't understand big words.
Uh huhn. So you used the word "retarded" because you thought we wouldn't understand the big word "stupid" or "ignorant" or any other number of words you could have used?
