Curious what others experienced when renting/borrowing a pump from the local WIC office. I'm under the impression that their pumps are probably Medela and I already know that you don't receive Formula while borrowing one and breast feeding. Just curious if its a hassle to borrow from them.. Sanitary issues?.. How long you can rent.. And if Id just be better off buying a new one.? Thx 

Never liked the electric pumps. Get a handpump, .. easier to clean and use, cheap (around 25-30 bucks) and highly efficient and not painful as hospital grade pumps. 

You don't need to worry about sanitary issues, the milk does not go through the machine, you will get new tubes and pieces for it completely sterile. While hand pumps can get a small job done it does not increase your production like a hospital grade pump or one of the home pumps (electric) will do.a hand pump will take what's there. I guess it depends how often you want to pump. I have a nice medela used it for 2 kids they are worth the investment.
