This will be our first move ever with the Marines. We were told our house would be ready and we can sign the lease at the beginning of March for a 3 bedroom in Adobe Flats. We weren't given an address or a specific date just yet. When do we contact TMO? All of our stuff is packed in boxes in a storage unit in Texas. I've heard we should contact them now to get on their radar and I've also heard to wait until we sign our lease. When should we really contact them? We've also been told that if we have everything packed in boxes, that the movers will unpack them and repack them to their liking. Is this true? I wouldn't mind but I think it might be hard for them to do since everything is crammed into a storage unit. Thank you!

You should probably call tmo and see what their policy is on moving from a storage unit that you packed your self. Also know that they will most likely require your spouse or someone with a poa to be there in person when they back up the storage unit.

I would wait to set a move date until you get an address though.

That's exactly what they told us. He has to fill out the tmo paperwork and I have to send a copy of my POA and have it with me when the movers come to our storage unit. He said they'd go into more details on that when he goes in to set it all up. Thanks for your help!! 

Good choice not coming with him. Lol. We came with my Husband and have been in the sleepy tortoise cramped up. But we're getting our adobe flats home the second week of March. I have two kids. Girl 4 and boy 18 months. Hope everything goes smooth for your move here!
