The first Baptist church of 29 palms has alot of problems.The Tili family and Jay Priddy run the church like it is a business instead of a church. Jay Priddy personally controls the tithe money to control the Pastor. These People have been left in the desert to long. They are not baptist at all. They try to bring pentecostal, assembly of God, and non-denominational doctrines into the church. They even claim and go as far as saying they're independent baptist. Freedom Baptist is the place to go. The Pastor's name is Todd Anderson. He just started the church and is associated with Calvary Baptist Church in Yucca Valley, and Lancaster Baptist Church in Lancaster, California. 

If a Baptist Church isn't associated with a College it's usually dead. 

^^'friend' yes but one thing needs to change in any baptist churches is where their concept of 'committment' is going to studies non-stop for a life time duration and problem is that churches get into a 'works saves' mentality contrary to grace and justification by faith [WE all 'do' things because we really want to but not from constant human pressures] ..To not be men-pleasers see. If you agree some way? It is all God's or not at all.

agree then and is one reason Calvary Chapel likely already has its schools too.Not all 'calvaries' are right-on of course..Sadly there are 'far' liberal Southern Baptist churches and colleges or seminaries as well too.

It's true though that many groups reject really 'knowing' the bible soundly as from 'reads' and personal studies and think it's a sin to know a lot ,thus some radical [pente] groups can be this way too..Since I know the bible real well people say I'm wrong knowing so much of it [if you can hear this that the bible is as a great weapon against the Red guy with the tail ]Thing is bible is like a compass to me.

correction now here: that too have a big good body of sound knowledge in say books of scriptural info gives a good backing to 'fellowships' and each person attending as well.. Is how I see that^ .I own thus my own library of solid books. 

This is actually the first I am hearing anything negative about the church.

I know there is a new pastor and a few people have left the church, but I have never heard anything about the Tili family or the Priddy's "running the church" like a business.

I think many of the younger membership attend church because of the fellowship work done by the Tili's.
